Photos Required for Aliyah Application

Here's what you'll typically need for your aliyah application:

Main Application Photos:

•      2-4 passport-style photos (5cm × 5cm / 2" × 2")

•      For your main aliyah application form

•      Must meet Israeli biometric standards (described in my previous message) Additional Photos You May Need:

  1.       For Each Family Member

                ◦     Each applicant needs their own set of photos

                ◦     Including children (even infants)

  1.       For Your Teudat Oleh (Immigrant Certificate)

                ◦     Usually 2 additional photos upon arrival in Israel

                ◦     Some people bring extra just in case

  1.       **For Teudat Zehut (Israeli ID) **◦      1-2 photos needed after arrival

◦ These are submitted at the Ministry of Interior Practical Advice:

•           Bring extras! It's wise to bring 8-10 extra photos with you to Israel

•           Keep digital copies on your phone/email

•           You'll need photos for various documents after arrival (health insurance card, bank accounts, etc.)

Where to Get Them:

•           Most aliyah organizations (Jewish Agency, Nefesh B'Nefesh) have partnerships with photo services

•           Standard passport photo locations (pharmacies, post offices, professional photographers)

•           Some online services deliver Israeli-spec photos

•           Israeli photo shops know the exact requirements if you need more upon arrival

Important: Check with your specific aliyah organization (Jewish Agency, Nefesh B'Nefesh, etc.) as they'll provide an exact checklist of how many photos to submit with your application packet.
